The Redeemed Christian School of
Missions (RECSOM) is the missionary training arm of The Redeemed Christian
Church of God (RCCG).
It is one of the three training arms of
the RCCG namely
1. The School of Disciples
(SOD),
2. The Redeemed Christian Bible College
(RCBC) and
3. The Redeemed Christian School Of
Missions (RECSOM)).
At
the ministers conference at the camp meeting in August 2014 the General
Overseer of RCCG, Pastor E. A. Adeboye declared that the RECSOM must be run
along with the other two schools in all regions of the RCCG all over the world.
He
asked that RECSOM be run all over the world where ever there is RCCG
because he was in Scotland shortly before then and he passed by a bar named
CHAPEL BAR. He wondered the relationship between Chapel and Bar. His driver
then told him that in the days of the Welsh Revival when churches were 5
minutes walking distance in rural areas and 5 minutes driving distance in urban
areas, it used to be a Chapel but now a Bar.
The
G.O. got angry in his spirit and made up his mind to recover all such former
chapels back. Before he came back to Nigeria, he was able to recover four. He
also inferred that the Church lost Britain because they did not reach out to
the indigenes of the land at the time of the Welsh revival.
To reach out to the indigenes of the
land anywhere we need missionary training. This is why he has asked that RECSOM
be started all over.
The Tent-making department
of RECSOM is what we are introducing to you. Like the RCBC and SOD, the
tentmaking department of RECSOM is willing and ready to start a campus in all
province.
In
the Tentmaking department, we will learn to do missions like Paul (the first
tentmaking missionary) who was doing missions and making tents so that he will
not be a burden to anyone. (Acts 18:1-3). Its for those who will learn to do
missions alongside our jobs.
The headquarters of RECSOM is situated
at Ededimeji, Ede in Osun state under the administration of Pastor Joel Oke
(Principal).
